PAUL JENNIFER BARCELONA
I haven't had a chance to update recently because immediately after my passport fiasco at Canada House, we went to Barcelona for a week. Or rather, it was meant to be for a week but we managed to get stranded due to the Icelandic volcano ash cloud. You may have heard about it? Anyway, despite the enormous amount of stress caused by the possibility of having to emigrate permanently, I fell in love with Barcelona. I loved Barcelona - LOVED it. The food, the wine, the architecture; it's a cool city. I can't wait to go back to Spain. Maybe the Basque region next time.
Tapas at Quimet & Quimet - amazing. All washed down by wine.
Pished in Poble Sec.
Barcelona is such a cool city, while walking around, you almost feel like you're in a movie. One directed by Woody Allen or someone as equally as creepy.
Some great shots! Hope you're home & well, ye lover of everything Weegie.
It does look kind of creepy, but also so historic!!
Some tips to travel to Barcelona:
Hire a car only if you are going to spend several days there, so you can visit also the surroundings and places like Montserrat, Port Aventura, Costa Brava, etc.
Be careful with pickpockets in metro and city center.
If you are going to travel with your family rent a centric apartment (here they have holiday apartments in barcelona city center and they give out a free pocket guide, which is always useful).
If you are going with friends it's a good idea too, but then you may want to look for something cheaper (here they have cheap accommodation in barcelona, from 19 € per night or so).
Look at this website for a good impression of where the best accommodations are located: Apartments in Barcelona map.
